Mrs. Hak Ja Han inspects the Karatsu site - Genji Newsletter November issue

■Hak Ja Han, wife of President Sun Myung Moon, who advocated the “International Highway/Japan-Korea Tunnel,” visits the Karatsu site

On November 14th, President Han Hak Ja, wife of the late President Sun Myung Moon, who advocated the "International Highway/Japan-Korea Tunnel" project, visited the Karatsu Nagoya Incline site for the first time, and was able to see the inside of the tunnel and the view. In addition to inspecting the platform, he prayed for the support of many collaborators in the future and encouraged them to realize the project as soon as possible.

The International Highway was proposed in November 1981, so this year marks the 35th anniversary, and the groundbreaking ceremony for the Japan-Korea Tunnel, Karatsu-Nagoya Incline, was held in October 1986, marking the 30th anniversary this year. However, because the proponent, Sun Myung Moon, passed away in September 2012, it was not possible for him to see the site in person. This year, a 35-year-old wish will be realized when President Hak Ja Han visits and inspects the facility. It is expected that this project will make visible progress in the future.

At 10 a.m. on November 14, President Han stepped onto the site in the rain. After he was given a progress report, he was given a benediction in front of the minehead. By this time the rain had stopped and the sun was even shining. They inspected the tip of the shaft, went up to the observation deck, and gazed out to the far west of the Genkai Sea, looking towards the Korean Peninsula. He left the site after planting a commemorative tree and giving encouragement to highway officials and field workers. A summary of the benediction is as follows:

``How long have I been waiting for this moment?

Here in Karatsu, Kyushu, God remembers the people involved in Korea and Japan who have struggled for over 30 years to fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with the proposal for the International Highway/Japan-Korea Tunnel.

Today, the entire world faces a gloomy reality where the future is unpredictable and has no future.

In such a situation, this international highway/Japan-Korea tunnel is a hope for future humankind and a project that can fulfill God's wishes.

For this, I once again offer my deepest gratitude and praise to God, and I sincerely hope that all the people who have been prepared to accomplish this project will come together and accomplish this goal.

Today, we pray and thank God for being with us even in the weather. ”
