In the July issue of the site newsletter, 16 members of the Japan-Korea Tunnel Promotion Shiga Prefectural Citizens' Council visited inclined shaft sites in Karatsu and Tsushima.
Chairman Uno said, ``The scene was better than I expected, and I could see that they were serious.'' Also, an elderly wife who came with her husband said, ``I've been supporting my husband's city council activities, but now he has a new goal,'' and ``You won't understand how serious he is until you come here.'' ” he said in amazement.
