Planting cherry blossoms at the mouth of the Aren mine March issue

Cherry blossom trees will be planted again this year along the route to the Aren mine entrance (Tsushima), and grass will be cut around the mine entrance (Iki)

On February 12th and 13th, cherry blossom trees were planted as part of a project related to the Tsushima International Highway. This year, 25 trees were planted in a park near the prefectural road leading to the Aren Shaft site. The cherry blossoms were kindly provided by Yoshiharu Kanazawa, chairman of the Kanagawa Prefectural Council for the Promotion of the Japan-Korea Tunnel, which started six years ago, and are located in a prime location overlooking the famous mountain "Hakudake," which symbolizes Tsushima, to the east. Two types were planted.

On February 26th and 27th, work was carried out in Iki to cut grass and cut down bamboo around the entrance to the Ashibe slope tunnel. A 120m access road from the prefectural road to the mine entrance was constructed in April last year, and an opening ceremony was held in August of the same year. The soil here is perfect for growing crops, as it was once a meadow or field, so weeds can grow quickly. Three people, including Director Seihachi Matsumura, worked on the work, and the building was kept in good condition.
