TBS covers the field in Karatsu and Tsushima - Genji Newsletter May issue

TBS covers both Karatsu and Tsushima sites and reports on "Newscaster"

The Japan-Korea Tunnel was introduced for about 5 minutes on the TBS program "Newscaster Heisei's Last Expanded Special!" which aired from 9pm on Saturday, April 27th. Interviews for this program were conducted on April 23rd, four days before the broadcast, at our foundation's Karatsu and Tsushima sites.

At the Tsushima site, our Foundation's Chairman Hirofumi Sato and Tsushima Site Director Joo responded, but TBS dispatched only one reporter, who took the first flight in the morning to Tsushima, conducted interviews and filming alone, and spent the night at night. We conducted interviews with the diagonal shaft site and surrounding residents until we returned on the last flight.

At the Karatsu site, Karatsu site manager Yoshitaka Okubo responded, and TBS dispatched a director, a cameraman, and a sound person, and conducted interviews for about four hours. Interviews and photographs were taken at the site office, in front of the explanatory sign near the entrance to the shaft, the entrance to the shaft, the pump room inside the shaft, the face, the winch, and the observation deck.

The interview covered a wide range of topics, including the purpose, route, cost, and construction history of the Japan-Korea tunnel, but the emphasis was placed on the purpose and current situation. As expected, with such a huge project underway, people seemed to be interested in questions like ``for what purpose?'' and ``what is going on now?'' In contrast, in both Tsushima and Karatsu, ``the idea is to connect the world by railways and roads as a concrete measure for the realization of world peace,'' and ``preparations for when it is adopted as a national project in the future.'' I answered emphasizing that. Unfortunately, this answer was never introduced on the show.

It was very meaningful for everyone across the country to learn about the current situation at the Japan-Korea tunnel, but in the future, the Foundation would like to work hard to fully introduce the truth. I am.
