■ Tsushima / Aren Incline Shaft will be extended by 10m, bringing the shaft entrance length to 20m
Construction work to extend the tunnel by 10 meters began on June 25th at the Aren Inclined Tunnel Entrance in Tsushima, where the entrance was installed in July last year.
On July 10th, the formwork was removed, revealing a concrete arched roof, measuring 20m in length.
Until now, the building had been about 5m away from the slope of the mountain and had a makeshift roof, but this construction work has brought it into contact with the slope. The area in the photo where the formwork is still attached is the construction site.
The person in question is Katsuno Uchiyama, Director of the Tsushima Office.
