I hear that now that the 53km of the Seikan Tunnel, the world's largest undersea tunnel, has been dug out, the only remaining project is the 235km Japan-Korea Undersea Tunnel.


Mr. Satokin (Shoichi Sato), who was a master of side dump loaders in the Seikan Tunnel, was able to carry it and board Karatsu (actually, a long horizontal boring machine, side dump loader, compressor, etc. that was sold at auction from the Seikan Tunnel. Heavy equipment was carried by ship from the Tsugaru Straits to the Tsugaru Straits).

Based on a geological survey conducted over five years from 20, a Japan-Korea tunnel comparison route was drawn, and a sloping shaft base (about XNUMX square meters) was completed in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture.

The entrance of the inclined shaft opens, the pier, rails, and winches are installed, and it is finally Satkin's turn.

He dug a total of 150m of inclined shafts, XNUMXm for the first phase construction and XNUMXm for the second phase construction, without any accident. In addition, the biggest issue of the above-mentioned topographical geological survey is the geological survey of the deep seafloor, including the unconsolidated sedimentary layer that extends over 500 m below the seafloor of the Tsushima Strait. Sonic exploration (single and multi-channel) was carried out for XNUMX km.

In particular, the Iki Suido (30km sea area from Karatsu area in Saga prefecture to Iki area in Nagasaki prefecture) was the highlight of the survey, which was the second light wave survey in Japan after the Seikan tunnel.
