The Hokkaido Shinkansen will finally open on March 26th, carrying the general public for the first time through the Seikan Tunnel connecting Honshu and Hokkaido.

After completing his boring work at the Seikan Tunnel, Mr. Hanada moved to the Tsushima Straits in Kyushu. This time, he was in charge of boring the Japan-Korea Tunnel, where he was responsible for more than 20 deep drillings (approximately 500m) on land for about 10 years in the Karatsu area of ​​Saga Prefecture and the Iki area of ​​Nagasaki Prefecture.

Mr. Hanada was a man who mentored and trained many young engineers in Kyushu (drilling geological surveys) and was loved as a father figure. He
is an unforgettable figure for the International Highway Foundation.
