I would like to offer my warmest New Year's greetings.
Last year marked the 70th anniversary of the end of the war and the 50th anniversary of the conclusion of the Japan-Korea Basic Treaty, and I am delighted that Japan, South Korea, and the United States were able to jointly embark on a future-oriented new era. I hope that this year will finally be the year in which the Japan-Korea tunnel construction will be in the spotlight as a symbolic joint project for peace and development in Asia and the world.
Last year, the Foundation prepared the construction site in Iki, following Karatsu and Tsushima, and prepared for the excavation of the entrance of the Iki exploration slope. We will do our best to make this project a success.
We would like to thank you for your continued support and guidance this year.
