Iki Investigation Inclined Shaft Entrance Clearing Work Completed – Site News July Issue

◆Iki investigation inclined tunnel entrance felling work completed

In preparation for the Iki Exploration Inclined Shaft construction, stake installation was completed in May, and last June, tree-clearing work was carried out at the planned access road to the entrance of the inclined shaft, completing preparations for construction.

The work was led by Matsumura, Director of the Iki site of the International Highway Foundation, but as the planned access road was 5m wide and 200m long, covering a considerable site area, and there were many uneven sections, the work took place over 10 days, from June 21st to 30th. As it was the rainy season, the work was hit by rain at times along the way, but the work was completed just before the start of the heaviest rainfall in Iki in 50 years.

The area that was previously overgrown with vegetation now has a clear view, and we are now fully prepared for the construction of the access road scheduled for September, followed by construction of the inclined shaft entrance.
