■ Karatsu/Nagoya Inclined Shaft: Leasing vacant land to contribute to the national policy of the mega solar power generation business and reduce maintenance costs
In order to contribute to the government's renewable energy policy, vacant land that does not hinder construction work at the Nagoya Incline Shaft site in Karatsu has been allocated to a mega solar power plant. Construction work, which began in April, has been completed and power generation is set to begin next month in December.
The 20,000m2 site will be leased to Mirai Karatsu Solar, a solar power generation company, for the next 20 years, generating approximately 1.5 megawatts per hour. A 600m exploration pit has been dug at the Karatsu office, and electricity and other maintenance costs are required for its maintenance, but it is expected that this will help cover those costs.
