Planting cherry trees at the base site - March edition of Site News

◆ Cherry trees planted on the site and roller curtains installed on the windows for practical use

At the Neo site, in addition to the construction of the cabin, we have begun planting cherry trees around the cabin. These were donated by Yoshiharu Kanazawa of Kanagawa Prefecture three years ago. We must surround the trees with wire mesh to protect them from deer damage when the flowers bloom and the leaves begin to appear.

New cherry blossom buds are a treat for deer, and they cruelly eat cherry trees up from the roots. This year, we planted trees around the shed, but next year we plan to plant them all over the site, starting from the top tier.

The maple trees have already turned red last year, so this place will be beautifully colored in spring and autumn. We aim to become the best place to relax and unwind in Tsushima.

Following the installation of the window frames and glass, roller curtains were installed earlier this month. Guests can now enjoy a blissful time sipping Kona coffee while looking out at the Tsushima blue sky and sea. Accommodation will soon be available. The fight against COVID-19 is now in its second year, but the Neo Cabin is also now in its second year, and we will finally be able to offer it to guests during the tunnel site inspection, so please look forward to it.

Tsushima is currently in the midst of cherry blossom season, but perhaps due to the phenomenon of the cherry blossoms blooming twice following two large typhoons last September, the number of flowers this spring is fewer and the flowers are smaller. The leaves have already appeared, and you can't help but feel the trees trying to recover their strength. The pale purple flowers of the Genkai azalea are also blooming, and this is the most beautiful time until the new green leaves appear.
