3. Japan-Korea Tunnel Technical Committee (2)

Later, I received the vast amount of organized data, which had been approved by the president and board of directors of the International Highway Foundation. I was particularly honored to receive the willing consent of President Kajikuri (now deceased, former chairman).

It was certainly a huge volume, but I read it all in one go. Like cold, clear water seeping into parched desert sand, I understood the contents, and my thirst for knowledge and my soul were satisfied. I was deeply moved.

I couldn't help but want to applaud, no, it wasn't just a simple emotion. I wanted to shout out loud. Of course, this was a shout of praise to the engineers who compiled and wrote this.

The book beautifully organizes the vast amount of data that was collected and reexamined from the results of land and sea geological and environmental surveys necessary for the construction of a Japan-Korea tunnel, conducted 30 years ago by the International Highway Construction Corporation (the predecessor of the International Highway Foundation), stretching from South Gyeongsang Province in South Korea to the Kitakyushu area in Japan.

The title is "Japan-Korea Tunnel Existing Data Organization and Reanalysis Project: Digitization of Existing Data," and it is divided into four divisions:
Division 1 (Public Relations) 1.58GB (3 CD-Rs), Division 2 (Geology) 6.22GB (13 CD-Rs), Division 3 (Construction) 609MB (1 CD-R), Division 4 (Environment) 700MB (2 CD-Rs), and Existing Data Organization and Reanalysis Report 494MB (1 CD-R).

The total is 9.57GB (20 CD-Rs), or about 10GB. Most of it is PDF data, and it contains a huge amount of literature.

What particularly kept me up at night was the data from Division 2 (geology), which took up more than half of the total at 6.22GB.
