Last year, the House of Representatives general election approved further promotion of "Abenomics," and we hope that policies to strengthen the nation's resilience will finally begin in earnest.
Furthermore, with the Olympics coming up in South Korea in three years and Japan in five, the time has come for both Japan and South Korea to build infrastructure for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.
Last year, following Karatsu, our foundation excavated the entrance to an inclined exploration shaft in Tsushima, which opened in September.
This year, we will work hard to ensure that the Japan-Korea Tunnel Project becomes a nationwide people's movement and a national project for both Japan and Korea.
