◆Iki survey slanted tunnel entrance clearing work completed

In preparation for the Iki survey diagonal shaft construction, lining was completed in May, and in June of last year, clearing work was carried out at the planned site for the access road to the diagonal shaft entrance, and pre-construction preparations were completed.

The event was led by Matsumura, director of the International Highway Foundation's Iki site, and the planned access road would be 5 meters wide and 200 meters long, covering a considerable area and with many steps. The work spanned 10 days, from the 30th to the 30th. It was also the rainy season, and there were times when we were hit by rain, but we were able to finish the work just before the heaviest rain in Iki, said to be the first in 50 years.

The view of the area that was once overgrown with vegetation has improved completely, and preparations are in full swing for the approach road construction scheduled for September, and the slope tunnel entrance construction that will follow.
